Outdoor Yoga London

Last Summer one of my favourite activities was the sunrise yoga sessions on the roof of One New Change. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know I don’t love yoga, but when it’s outside, it’s a whole different ball game. Waking up my body and muscles as the city was coming to life and watching the sun shine down over St Paul’s Cathedral was such an incredible way to start the day. Whilst I’m not sure if they’ll be offering these free sessions this summer (keeping my finger’s crossed that they will!) there are a number of other outdoor yoga options available in London.

Yesterday I attended my first Native Highs outdoor yoga class in Dalston with Charlie. It was worth the 5.15am wake up call to spend 2 hours stretching out my very tight hip flexors under the blue sky. It was unlike any other vinyasa class I’ve done, but it was great although I did think the savasanah was too long (shocking, I know-it’s usually my favourite part of class). We finished up with a delicious breakfast of coconut yogurt, oats, berries and almond butter!

Next week I’m hitting up the free tennis inspired yoga class at Cardinal Place in Victoria. The session is being led by Jo Arthur whose clients include Princess Beatrice and Holly Branson. Sign up at www.createvictoria.com.

Coq d’Argent are hosting weekly morning yoga sessions in the City for between £15-25 per class. After the Vinyasa flow class, guests are encouraged to stick around, enjoy a free breakfast and socialise with other likeminded women- think of it as the ultimate wellness networking event. Yoga in the Shard

Yoga in the Shard

Apparently they do Yoga outside at the top of the Shard on days where the weather is nice! Am heading up the 306m for a class tomorrow with Ashley booked through my SoMuchMore account, and I’m hoping we’ll get the chance to be on the viewing deck!

Yoga Peckham Rise hosts regular outdoor classes in both Peckham and Stratford throughout the summer. For just £12, these classes get rave reviews from friends. Now that there’s a Shake Shack at Westfield in Stratford, I am very keen to give this one a go- anyone fancy joining me for yoga and burgers?

I’ve been doing yoga for a couple of years now at my gym but I’ve never done it outdoors, with those views of London it looks and sounds like an amazing thing to do!
