With the time difference, jet lag, action packed days (yes sitting by the pool counts as an activity!) and the fact that I’m trying to be present on my honeymoon rather than glued to a laptop or phone, I have been a rather lax blogger.
After receiving some lovely comments on the Instagram stories about our wedding so I thought I’d share the sneak peak photos we received from our photographer as well as a couple of lovely pics sent by friends from the day.
I’m going to write a couple more blog posts and share them when we’ve seen all the photos – there are so many things I loved about the day however there are a few things that weren’t perfect including the finishing touches on my dress and the fact that the heavens opened just as we left the church ? (although I’m certainly trying not to dwell on these). And after sharing my post-wedding anxiety and realising that I am not alone in my feelings, I’d really like to write more about them.
I felt so honoured and lucky to have some of my best friends by my side as bridesmaids and maids of honour, while a whole host of them were in the congregation to witness our marriage and cheer us on. For those asking, we got married in Tom’s parent’s local village church and then a marquee in our garden with about 140 guests.
As well as bridesmaids, we also had Tom’s niece and nephews as flower girl and page boys, they looked so cute! Unfortunately Kitty (pictured above) slipped on the stone stairs midway through the wedding and cut her chin open, she was OK after some butterfly stitches and the reassurance that she’d have a great story to tell in the future! She was such a hit on the dance floor – even with her injury!
Thank you for all your thoughtful messages, kind words and support throughout our engagement, wedding and hopefully into our marriage. I love what a huge support network we have!
Congratulations! We got married on 18/08 and then honeymooned in Hawaii, so hope you’re having a awesome time! We’d go back in a heartbeat!xx
