What would you like for Christmas?
I never really know what to say when asked this as usually its either quite a niche running thing (so I send the exact link!) or I can’t think of it at the exact moment I’m asked. But here are a few things on my list this year that I love and think you (and your runner friends) will too..
Mile Off Packable Puffer Gilet – I bought my first MileOff pieces this Autumn and love the thought thats gone into every item. Designed by Alice, she really has made very item with the female runner in mind. I love this puffer gilet that packs into it’s own shoulder bag – cute and versatile.
Adidas EVO SL ATX – the trail version of one of my fave shoes have just been released and I can’t wait to give it a try, especially as when we get back to the UK it’s likely to be rather wet and muddy on the Thames Path (I also ordered another colourway of the road shoe in the Black Friday sale).
Frilly socks – I get SO many questions about my Stance frilly socks and now a number of other brands have brought out their own. Top of my list – Bombas (who donate a pair for every pair bought) Saturday Strides (a female owned small business) and Stance who really do make great running socks.
Gels – hear me out on this one, but gels are pricey and add up especially when marathon training. These are a great small pressie, stocking filler or secret santa gift if you know which ones to get. If not, why not try an Energy Gel selection box or monthly nutrition box from Xmiles.
Reflective Hair Scrunchie – I bought myself a Staise reflective hair scrunchie earlier this year and although its on the pricier side there are cheaper options for this great safety addition to winter running kit. You can also get light up scrunchies on Amazon which are another fun way to be seen in the dark.
Light up Vest – another safety one – my personal favourite is the Noxgear Tracer2 (its comfy and doesn’t move around when you’re running.
FreePeople High Half Zip Fleece – I’ve seen this all over instagram and quite frankly, I want it. I love the Navy/White and Green/Navy versions – perfect for throwing on after a run or gym workout, or just wearing casually.
I have never really been into tracksuits but live in oversized jumper/fleeces and leggings/flares (although I recently bought a matching tracksuit set from Gap!) However I saw people style these pinstripe satin Adidas tracksuit bottoms and now I really want them!
Personalised race jewellery – I LOVE my Six Star necklace and NYC gold apple from Erica Sara. She makes personalised race bibs, finisher pieces plus a whole range of jewellery for runners. I’ve worked with her at the NYC expo for the past three years and always have the most fun helping people pick out an item to celebrate their milestones.
Shokz headphones – these are the only headphones I’d use during a race or when buggy running/running with the dog (although a lot of the time I don’t actually any!) These are currently on sale!
Running sunnies – my personal go-to are Goodr glasses. They’re under £30 and are hardwearing, non-slip and come in a huge range of styles. I think the OGs basically suit everyone in black or brown. Also – is it too creepy but I really want a pair of the Meta glasses (Oakley or Rayban) to film my runs so they are on my list!
Weasie Racing Kit – I wore this for Sydney marathon and the shorts for Chicago because they have SO many pockets. I wish I’d sized down in the shorts because once they are stuffed with gels, phone etc they can fall down a little but overall they were ideal. No chafing and I love the matching set vibes.
Recovery boots – And then what was on the top of my wish list for years (and I finally got them this year!) are the Hyperice Normatec boots. They are HANDS DOWN the best recovery boots out of the many that I’ve tried. I love the wireless feature meaning I don’t have to be connected to the wall while I’m using them. I haven’t had a chance to have a massage for months (tbh a massage is probably top of my list of pressies from my husband this year!) but these saw me through two marathons plus the long haul travel to Sydney and Chicago for them. Plus they’re also on sale!!
