When Tom told me it looked like I had acne on my face with this mask I definitely thought about not showing them to anyone.

Haha it’s not pretty. I had some manky strawberries to use up, and I’d heard they can make a great exfoliating face mask when mixed with oats and yogurt (yummy breakfast, less yummy facemask).
I mixed together the following;
6 strawberries – mashed
1tbsp oats
1tbsp yogurt
1tsp manuka honey
Spread it on your face and massage it around to exfoliate and moisturise the skin. Leave it on your face for 5mins while tucking in to some other strawberries. I love using real foods to nourish my skin both inside and out- although it doesn’t look that pretty, it tastes great!
Strawberries contain alpha hydroxyl acids that work against free radicals and improves the appearance of skin by fighting the common signs of ageing.
Honey is great for the skin as it’s antibacterial and a really great moisturiser, Manuka honey is especially brilliant as it is anti-fungal and tea tree antibiotic properties. Yogurt is really soothing, plus it contains lactic acid that apparently really helps the skin glow.
Why not have a root around your fridge and cupboards to find some goodies to make into a DIY natural face mask?!
Definitely sounds like a good breakfast recipe, can’t say I’ve tried anything like it on my skin before though! Maybe I’ll save a few strawberries to one side…
I’ll have to try this! Is the type of honey important, or will regular honey work too?
Any honey will do, Manuka has extra antibacterial and antifungal properties than regular honey though!
Haha, you’re so cute!
That is for sure something I would eat for breakfast 😉 I’ve never tried making my own skin care products before, but after having some issues with acne maybe this is just what I need. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
