New York Marathon Nail Art

Woohoo, today is the day. I’m off to the Big Apple!

I asked my very talented friend Jo, who creates some amazing nail art on her blog Dahlia Nails, to paint me some ‘go faster nails’ for the NYC marathon on Sunday, and she did not disappoint! Go over and check out her website for some amazing halloween nail inspiration!

Hello! I’m Jo from Dahlia Nails. I was very excited when Charlie asked me to create a NYCM nail design for her. After some research, a few drawings and approval from ‘the client’, we set to work.

Charlie requested that we include an American flag, ‘26.2’ and the iconic ‘I heart NY’. As the thumbs are the largest nail I put the flags on these. On the fingers we spread out the other two requests. Left with one spare finger I added a silhouette of the Statue of Liberty, but unfortunately she seems to have gained a bit of weight recently!

We went for bright bold colours to make the nails as eye catching as possible. The main base colour is Models Own – Blueberry Muffin, and we also used their Betty Blue in the American flag. The other colours are all Barry M including Bright Red, Matt White and Red Glitter, for a little extra sparkle! For all the detailing I used Barry M’s wonderful nail art pens. These are so easy to use as they write just like normal pens and there’s no need for squeezing, so no sore hands!

We were both very pleased with how they came out, and I hope they will help keep Charlie’s spirits up during the marathon.

Good Luck Charlie!!
