After doing an instagram question story, one of the most common requests for blog posts was a life update/personal post. So here we go.
I wrote a book! Ok correction, I am still writing a book. I’ve submitted all 75+ recipes but haven’t quite finished all of the introductions, menu plans or nutrition guidelines yet. It’s definitely taking me longer to write it than I thought it would be, but I’m so excited that I’m nearly finished!
The response to my announcement on Sunday was overwhelming, and I cannot thank all of you who have already pre-ordered the book enough. You can order it here. I know there were some issues with it being available in the US and Canada, but I’m working on getting the right link – you’ll be able to pre-order by the end of the month.
But a lot of people asked me after the announcement, how I do it all? And the truth, the REAL truth is that I don’t. I couldn’t. I can’t.
Uni: I’ve got an exam, a dissertation and one piece of coursework left. And I was seriously struggling, so had to apply for an extension for the dissertation and coursework.
The Blog: I know I’ve really dropped the ball with blogging, so I want to say thank you for sticking around, for continuing to read! I so appreciate it, and am excited to continue to write more blogs. After spending the weekend with hungryrunnergirl, who blogs EVERYDAY, and finding some new-to-me blogs like ‘A Foodie Stays Fit‘, I’m actually more encouraged to continue to write here than ever.
Running: Running is one of the few things that I do think has been going pretty well. I’ve had a great last couple of weeks (since my mini freak out) – with an awesome long run in Indy last weekend with 8 MGP miles.
Friends/family: I feel like I’ve dropped the ball in this area too. I’ve been away a lot for work, which I absolutely love (and want to keep travelling as much as possible) however I haven’t got the balance quite right recently. I don’t want to miss out on my friends new babies. birthdays, weddings, and just spending more quality time with my loved ones (without worrying about email/instagram/deadlines while I’m with them).
Strength Training: I recently went back to F45 and remembered why I loved it so much (although wow I was sore the following day). Obviously I’m not going to be ramping back up with intense classes until after Edinburgh, but I am going to be back at Go Perform, where they really tailor each workout to the individual. They know what they’re doing when it comes to marathons so I trust their judgement in what is appropriate to do during taper, and what needs to wait until post-race.
Travel: I love to travel, as you all know. I don’t love the waiting around in the airport, or when people around you are sick on the plane due to turbulence, but that’s all part of it! I’ve had a jam packed few months, but am pretty much in the UK for the next 2 months (aside from a mini break to Barcelona with one of my best friends this weekend!).
Thanks so much for sticking around while the blog was rather quiet…it’s good to be back!
So glad you’re back to blogging Charlie! This is how I initially started following you and while Instagram is great … there is just something so great about the blog world!! Hope you keep doing the life update posts!!
