Chicago Marathon Training Week 2

Jul 6, 2015 | Uncategorized | 2 comments

I’ve been on holiday this week, which although has been ideal for my mental wellbeing, I’m not sure how great the booze heavy evenings are for my marathon training.

When I first sent over my plans for my holiday training to Kerry, he messaged me back saying that I needed to be working a lot harder whilst I was away. Whoops!

Monday – 8 miles before work, accidentally had to do my long run from last week this week after being too fragile to run on Sunday.

Tuesday- Barrecore & 5 mile run with Adidas to get some fun photos at twilight. It was HOT!

Wednesday- Travel day, did not a lot.

Thursday- 5 X 400m @ 5.52 min mile pace on the treadmill. What a mess of a session, my first 400m turned out to be 0.4 of a mile after I misread the treadmill settings. I then fell off the treadmill and threw water all over the man next to me during a rest section- luckily I only bruised my arm and my ego.

Friday – Crazy golf counts as exercise, right?

imageSaturday- Tennis game with friends. My game is improving marginally and Tom and I won our little tournament!

Sunday – 7 miles @ 9 min mile pace, 4 solo miles followed by 3 with my friend Emily. We found a new healthy cafe where we finished our run with smoothies.
