Chicago Marathon Training Week 14

Sep 21, 2015 | Uncategorized | 6 comments

This week has been less than ideal, I’ve been plagued with migraines – probably not helped by a number of glasses of champagne at my friends wedding!

Monday – BarreStretch class – my body loves this class and it does a world of good after the 22 miler last week.

Tuesday – Off with a migraine.

Wednesday- Project Awesome before work, and meeting Tom’s new nephew after work! Still suffering with a migraine so was in bed by 9!

Thursday – 30 min HIIT training class at The Altitude Centre for some cardio fitness training. I’ve been getting a little nervous about my cardio fitness for Chicago so I’ve booked myself in for 3 weeks of altitude training! After work I was part of a fun team taking on the Bloomberg Square Mile relay, running a mile around the City of London (up and down stairs) in 6.51. You can read all about my race here.

Friday – Out with a migraine.

Saturday – Celebrating at one of my best friend’s weddings and dosing up on codeine to get through day 5 of my migraine.

Sunday – Recovering after the wedding!!

I’m hoping that this migraine will end for the start of this new week, and with only 20 days to go until the Chicago marathon there is still some work and a lot of tapering to be done.

Oh no! Could the migraines be because you are back on the caffeine?

Unfortunately not as simple as that- have been back on the caffeine for a few months and this is only my second migraine cluster. Feeling much better today though!

I hope that you can banish the migraines. Avoid drinks with bubbles! G

I am so sorry to hear about your migraines. My father suffered with those for years. Take a break and try to relax (I know easier said than done) I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Good luck with the migraines! Hopefully you’re able to kick them to the curb. Also, you’ve put in a TON of training and will be GREAT!
