I am the furthest thing from a model, however due to this little blog I’ve found myself in front of the camera on on more photoshoots than I can remember. I used to get incredibly nervous, especially if anything was being filmed, but I’ve become a lot more relaxed over the years and try to just embrace the awkwardness of the situation…

Thank goodness I don’t have to do bikini shots… except for that one time I was in a swimming costume.

I thought I’d share some behind the scenes from a shoot I was on two weeks ago, a super fun imaginative shoot, however…

We were late in starting by two hours because they were literally waiting for the paint to dry in the studio! Luckily I got to hang out with some really lovely people – check out Ben, Ellie and Sean (who saved the day by bringing us all iced coffees).

The project was with Suzuki, shooting our SwiftList challenges; obviously my challenge was to use the car as a gym. Originally I had wanted to race the car over a short distance…from engine off so that I had a chance. Sadly there wasn’t space in the studio to do this but it would have been fun!

And then they asked if I could put my leg on the roof… ERM NO. I can’t even touch my toes, the most yogi I can do is savasana…. in the boot.

I sometimes feel a bit (a LOT) awkward on a photoshoot when I turn up and am the *fitness* blogger, and I don’t have a six pack, can’t do the press ups without seeing stars after a couple of minutes (true story, probably due to extreme hunger!). I worry that the brand/those on the shoot wonder how I could possibly be the fitness enthusiast – insert embarrassed emoji!

Especially at the moment, I feel like a bit of a fraud. I’ve eaten my weight in snacks as I’ve been revising, and as I’m not marathon training at the moment, I actually feel really out of shape. Hence the full black outfit to try to make myself feel a little slimmer. New fitness regime started this week, yay and I’m going to be working with a PT properly in the run up to the wedding…

This wasn’t my typical branded photoshoot as it wasn’t about the clothes or the shoes… it was about the car. But it made me think outside the box, utilising the car and studio to get a workout in.

I know this isn’t my typical collaboration (and they didn’t ask me to write a blog about the shoot/car, these were just too funny not to share) – I said yes to this project because I loved that we could choose our own niche/passion rather than having to follow a brief…plus it’s an extreme way of proving that you really don’t need a gym membership or a lot of equipment to workout. No excuses!
