Ana Nichoola Cycling Gear Review and Giveaway

I used to like working out in plain black- black leggings and a black loose top to cover all the lumps and bumps and not draw attention to myself at the gym. Now, however, it’s a different story. The brighter the better!

When Ana Nichoola sent me some items to test out whilst training for and completing the London to Brighton Bike ride, I immediately fell in love the with Black and Purple Star jersey. I wore it on Sunday and had numerous compliments from riders and volunteers. My favourite moment was when a volunteer with a megaphone shouted out to a guy next to me that ‘a lovely lady in a starry top was passing him on the hill’ and to ‘hurry up’! Totally chicked him!

I loved the top, and found it really comfortable and flattering. The elasticated bottom meant that it didn’t ride up, although I would warn you that the elastic around the arms is quite tight! I wore a medium and am a size 10-12. I think the large would also have fit quite well considering I have quite a large chest to accomodate!

I wore my awesome Black Star jersey with the cute Bow Peep Gloves in black and purple. With my black and purple helmet I was totally matching (all the gear and no idea?) The gloves were really comfortable, again I wore a medium but think I could have got away with a large (I have quite large hands). The gloves protected me both from the cold in the early morning, and from getting sore, blistered hands riding all day.

I was also sent the stylish Cycle Sailor Vest to test out on some training rides. I loved the shape of this top, and have worn it cyling, spinning and running. It’s lightweight, sweatwicking, and above all, very flattering on the stomach area!! I’m sure I’ll be wearing it a lot this summer!

The lovely folk over at Ana Nichoola have kindly offered to give away either a Star Jersey top (they only have larges left, but the winner can choose the colour- black or white, great for yourself or for a friend!) or a pair of their Naked Hand Fingerless gloves and a Star Neck Warmer.

    Hey Charlie, great competition!

I am absolutely obsessed with the Ana Nichoola – Team Mule Bar Girl/Sigma Sport racing kit (they are my local girls cycling team)I want to wait till the end of the season and try and buy spares, but on the website my current love is the white Kestral gloves.

Massive Ana Nichoola fan already – my Snow Cat winter jacket is my absolute favourite piece of cycling kit, I love it!

Would love to get my hands on a star jersey (or the gloves/neckwarmer combo)… (and am planning to purchase one of the lovely stripey sailor jerseys as soon as I get paid) – previously followed Ana Nichoola on FB and Twitter and Charlie I’ve just followed you too!
    Fingers crossed…

Another big AnaNichoola fan here: I LOVE my star tights! I hear they are very popular, I like to say ‘everybody’s starry-thighed’ (worst. pun. ever… I know).

I’ve already followed AnaNichoola on Twitter and liked on FB, have now liked Runnerbeans on FB and following you, Charlie (another one! YAY! Great name!) on Twitter 😀

I love the vest shirt and the gloves and the jersey. I would prefer the black and white. WEEE!

I’ve got the lovely start tights but would be overjoyed by the matching top. My absolutely most favourite that I own though are my arm warmers. I am slightly obsessed by am warmers, to the extent I am having to prevent myself buying all the colours. Black and purple, innit?

Oh, I have been gazing, starry eyed, at the starry jersey and starry tights for some time now. If I had to pin it down to one item, it’d have to be the jersey. Just looks FINE and just the job for bombing up and down the trails.

I like the star jersey and the tights, but really would like a pair of shorts. I love this stuff as it’s so different from all the other stuff which looks as if you’re wearing a ‘cycling uniform’ like Harold and Hilda!!!

Like you, whilst I have a small back, I have a fairly ample chest to fit into a jumper.

  18. June 21, 2013 / 6:51 pm

The black star jersey is my favourite!

  19. June 23, 2013 / 8:00 pm

Do you think I would look as fab as you if I was in the white star top? Here’s hoping!

I already follow Ana on twitter and Facebook, now following you on Twitter. I’m looking forward to reading more of your blog and tweets!

    cheers
    Carol
